Angolan head of state João Lourenço Tuesday stressed the importance of combined efforts and union of Angolans in combat Covid-19.
The President’s call comes in a message addressed to the National Assembly, ahead of debate in general terms of 2021-State Budget.
The head of State described joint efforts as crucial to avoid greater damage to the collective health of Angolans, and unrecoverable social and economic losses for the country.
João Lourenço recalled that the Executive has been making every effort to contain and control the number of infections in Angola.
He added that new rules have recently been approved, coupled with speed up of the projects aimed at resize the National Health System.
The president highlighted the “tireless” performance of health professionals.
In his message, Joao Lourenço said that professionals spare no efforts and endure sacrifices in their struggle day and night to reduce the suffering of thousands of Angolans and for the recovery of those reaching health facilities, mainly, in intensive care units.
He once again thanked the health professionals for their professionalism, patriotism and love for the neighbor.
With 13,615 cases, Angola reports 324 deaths, 6,523 recoveries and 6,768 active.
Moreover, the health authorities currently control 504 patients admitted to treatment centers in the country.
