ITC SheTrades/Twill Coaching Programme 2020 for Female Entrepreneurs

In working toward their shared goal of helping women-owned SMEs upscale their businesses to maximize the benefits of international trade, ITC SheTrades and Twill by MAERSK have joined forces to implement a brand new coaching programme!Women entrepreneurs in India, Kenya, Mexico, and Nigeria can now apply to become part of the eight-week programme and receive one-on-one coaching from a Twill expert.

The offering is now officially open to women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Kenya, Mexico and India. Women can apply to participate in the programme and if successful, they will be matched with a Twill Coach to work on an eight-week project to improve an area of their business

The aim of the Fellowship Programme is to help university students prepare for life as a high-impact, responsible entrepreneur. Applicants must be in Grade 12 or 1st year university and have a 70% overall academic average. Once applicants are successful, they are on boarded as Candidate Allan Gray Fellows.

Requirements

Due to COVID-19 academic results will be considered at a later stage in the selection process.
Applicants must be under the age of 22 in the year of their application.
South African Citizenship
Studying towards a Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts & Health Science (Excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry) degree at WITS, UJ, UCT, NMU, RU, UWC, SU, UP, UFS, TSIBA and UKZN.

Nestlé is offering 100 young people an opportunity to join its newly established Virtual Internship program as part of the organisation’s ongoing interventions aimed at reducing youth unemployment, across East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR).

This program forms part of Nestlé’s Needs Youth Global initiatives that are aimed at creating and implementing employability programmes, mentorship and training initiatives that will equip the youth with essential workplace skills. “In addition to receiving a financial stipend, this program offers participants high tech-enabled learning, international skills transfers as they will be mentored by leading global experts.

Announced on the 12th of August, coincides with the worldwide commemoration of the International Youth Day 2020. This year’s theme: “Youth Engagement for Global Action” seeks to highlight the ways in which the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes.


Covid-19: Angola records 53 new infections, three deaths, seven recoveries

 Fifty-three new positive cases of covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours in Angola, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 1.815, the health authorities said.

According to the secretary of State for Public Health during the daily covid-19 update briefing, three deaths and seven recoveries have also been reported in the last 24 hours.

Franco Mufinda said all 53 new positive cases of the disease have been detected in Luanda, with their ages ranging from 23 to 71 years. 38 are males and 15 females.

The deaths refer to two males and a woman with 17, 60 and 50 years of age.

With the new data, Angola’s covid-19 figures show 1.815 infections, 83 deaths, 584 recoveries, and 1.148 active patients.
