Angola and Equatorial Guinea analyse bilateral cooperation




Luanda - Angola and Equatorial Guinea assessed Monday in Luanda the bilateral cooperation, with a focus on defence, security and public order, as part of the Second Session of the Permanent Joint Cooperation Commission.

Delegations from both countries also analysed the level of economic relations, with particular emphasis on industry and commerce, agriculture and fisheries, oil, public works, transport, education and justice.

The work was guided by the director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Sardinha Lemos Dias, and by the secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Matias Mba Medja.


US deputy secretary of State expected in Luanda




Luanda - The United States' Deputy Secretary of State, Wendy Sherman, Wednesday begins a two-day working visit to Angola to boost bilateral cooperation.

According to a statement from the Angolan embassy in the US, the visit, which is due to take place from 4 to 5 May, has the main aim of boosting the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the visit, meetings are scheduled with high-level government officials to discuss the current state of bilateral relations at all levels, under the existing strategic partnership dialogue.


President encourages journalists ahead of Press Freedom Day



Luanda – Angolan head of State João Lourenço Tuesday congratulated journalists and other professionals who make press freedom a powerful instrument for strengthening democracy and promoting social peace.

The Angolan Head of State made this statement on his facebook page.

 

"My thanks recognition go to journalists and other professionals who make press freedom a powerful instrument for strengthening democracy and promoting social peace and development," he said.

 

World Press Freedom Day is celebrated on May 3.
