Angolan Health minister Sílvia Lutucuta Tuesday advised people to refrain from unnecessary travels both locally and abroad on account of the prevailing dangerous epidemiological situation.
The minister was speaking in Dundo city, at the end of a working visit to northeastern Lunda Norte province.
According to Silvia Lutucuta, the positive cases of Covid-19 have been on the rise, representing a high public health danger, hence the need for people to stay at home.
"Don’t travel unnecessarily. You should only travel in situations of health, extreme need and pressing service trip as recommended by the Presidential Decree,” said the minister.
She appealed to the media organs to continue promoting contents that help raise awareness among citizens, encouraging them to strictly abide by announced prevention measures.
Lunda Norte province has 71 people in home quarantine, having reported one positive case since recovered.
