The article published on Friday states that, after arriving in Cairo (Egypt), where the organization's headquarters is located, Ahmad presented mild flu symptoms and was submitted to the Covid -19 protocol.

With the positive result, Ahmad is quarantined, in his hotel, for at least 14 days.

CAF states that persons that had contact with him in the last seven days have been informed and asked to take the necessary measures.

Ahmad Ahmad of Madagascar was elected president of the African Football Confederation in March 2017, beating the Cameroonian Issa Hayatou in the elections, who led the organization since 1988.

It is recalled that on the 27th of this month, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced that the organization's president, Gianni Infantino, is also infected with the new corona-virus.

In the end of this period, Gianni Infantino will undergo a new corona-virus test.

FIFA also clarifies that people who had direct contact with Infantino have already been informed of the situation, and advised to comply with the isolation and to be tested.
