Audit Court pledges greater control over public spending

Luanda - The National Audit Court has pledged to exercise tighter control on public spending, as part of its supervisory action on financial and administrative management acts of the State and other public and private institutions.

In the framework of this strategy, the Audit Court started Friday a seminar on digital transformation process aimed for judges and employees of that high court, with the participation of national and foreign lecturers.

According to the  institution’s presiding judge, Exalgina Gamboa, the focus is to control and monitor in real time the effectiveness of public spending.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the magistrate stressed that the initiative also aims to prevent and discourage "certain practices" that persist in some institutions that manage state funds.

She noted that a new era is in progress in the work of assessing and dealing with external audit cases of public finances that are processed at the Court of audits

The judge made it clear that the modernization of the institution's digital system is also part of the Reform of the State, Justice and Public Administration, adding that the new IT management system of the Audit Court  aims to improve the work of the institution, particularly in the technical area.

To the presiding judge, the fact that all the organs of the State, including the judicial power, have embarked on the modernization programme will result in greater interoperability.

The digital transformation programme includes the installation of an integrated management system by phases over an 11-month period.

The seminar lasts one day.
