Over five million Angolans get identification documents

 Luanda – The massification program for the birth registration and the attribution of the Identity Card allowed to register 5.0 million citizens until December 2021.



The information was disclosured last Friday in Luanda by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Francisco Queiroz, at the opening of the 11th briefing meeting of the program, underway in the country since November 2019.

According to the minister, in the same period, 2.6 million identity cards were issued to national citizens for the first time, of which 644,494 were issued in the last five months.

Comparing to the birth registration, the official advanced that were admitted 1.2 million birth registration.

The minister emphasized that the program is also taking place in South Africa, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Congo, Namibia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sao Tome and Principe, Zimbabwe, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Vietnam, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, England, Italy, Portugal, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Poland, Brazil, Cuba, United States of America and Jamaica.

Francisco Queiroz said that his sector has been carrying out since March 2021, the Land Registry Massification Program, with the aim of legally regularizing the situation of about three million properties by 2025.
