Covid-19: Patients transferred to home treatment in Angola

 Thirteen of the 21 active cases of Covid-19 in central Huambo province who have been receiving treatment at the specialised center of the Benguela Railway Hospital (CFB), will undergo home medical treatment.

Health authorities in Huambo province have a record of 50 positive cases, with 27 recovered, two deaths and 21 active, all asymptomatic.

According to the director of the Office of Health and spokesman for the local multi-sectoral commission to prevent and combat Covid-19, Lucas António Nhamba, the rapid response team is in permanent contact with the relatives of the infected people, in order to check the health condition of the patients.

Lucas António Nhamba said that among the actives, eight are in institutional isolation, four at the CFB Hospital and an equal number at the Logistics and Distribution Center (CLOD).

There are 256 citizens who are in home quarantine are waiting for the results of molecular biology tests.

Huambo province has 249 health units, in a universe of 2, 126 beds in several wards and 14 in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
 

It has 308 doctors, 3, 639 nurses, 467 diagnostic technicians and therapists, as well as 825 administrative staff, in addition to other professionals to ensure its normal functioning.
 

With 11 municipalities, the province of Huambo has two 2.5 million inhabitants.
