Covid-19: Parents were told to contribute to prevention of pandemic

Secretary of State for Pre-school Education Pacheco Francisco has called for cooperation in protection and prevention against covid-19 pandemic in the schools.

PACHECO FRANCISCO, SECRETARY OF STATE FOR PRE-SCHOOL

He appealed to the parents and guardians, especially those with primary school students, to participate in this exercise aimed to curb the spreading of covid-19 virus.

"We have to appeal to the Commission of Parents and Guardians for  reflection on the situation, as the State alone will not be in a position to solve all the problems at once," he said.

According to reports, 14, 477 primary schools across the country which are not budgeted are deprived of running water and cleaning workers, a fact that increases the danger of the spread and contagion of covid-19 among children.

Pacheco Francisco is in the coastal Cuanza Sul province to assess the conditions created in three primary schools in the municipality of Sumbe.

“(....) We know of several difficulties, mainly in primary schools without  budget. But that the current moment demands the  creation of conditions of biosafety so that classes run smoothly”, said the official, stressing that effort is in progress to make this a reality in the next academic years.

After Cuanza Sul, the Secretary of State's delegation heads to the provinces of Huambo, Bié, Malanje and Cuanza Norte for the same purpose.
