Covid-19: Angola reports 95 new infections, 20 recoveries

 Angolan health authorities have registered 95 new infections, two deaths and 20 patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.


According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who was updating on the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, one case was diagnosed in Bengo province, one in Huíla, four in Benguela, fifteen in Cunene, seven in Namibe and 67 in Luanda.

Mufinda also announced that the first cases recorded in Namibe province were imported from the Luanda/Cuanza Sul/Benguela epidemiological corridor.

Among the new patients, whose ages range from 7 to 69 years, are 64 males and 31 females.

The two deaths, he said, involved two male citizens living in Luanda and Benguela, both of Angolan nationality.

Those recovered, he said, were patients from Luanda province.

Angola has 5,958 positive cases, with 208 deaths, 2,635 recovered and 3,115 active people. Among the active, 10 are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, 17 severe, 70 moderate, 360 with mild symptoms and 2,658 asymptomatic.
