Covid-19: Angola with 90 new infections, five deaths

 Ninety new infections and five deaths is the statistical balance sheet for the last 24 hours announced this Sunday by the health authorities.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, during the updating session, there were 88 cases notified in Luanda and two in Cabinda province.

Mufinda said that the list of new patients, whose ages range from three to 99 years old, included 47 men and 43 women.

In relation to the five deaths, he noted that these were four Angolan citizens and one of Eritrean nationality, all resident in Luanda province, two of them male and three female.


With these data, Luanda province has a cumulative of 3,655 positive cases and 144 deaths, Benguela 44 positive and three deaths and Cabinda with 86 positive cases.

The epidemiological table also shows Bengo with seven positive cases and one death, Bié with five positives, Cunene with four cases, Huambo with 35 cases and two deaths, Huíla with four cases, Kwanza Norte with 25 cases and four deaths, Kwanza Sul with five cases and one death, Lunda Norte with one case, Lunda Sul one case, Malanje one case, Moxico three cases, Uíge one case and Zaire with 114 cases.

The provinces of Cuando Cubango and Namibe are the only ones without a positive case record.

The country has 3,991 positive cases, with 152 deaths, 1,445 recovered and 2,394 active.

Of the active, one is in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, 11 severe, 50 moderate, 62 with mild symptoms and 2,282 asymptomatic.

Four hundred and fifty-four patients are under follow-up in treatment centres.
