Luanda - Cabinet Council approved Thursday the National Plan for the Promotion and Development of Livestock (Planapecuária), for 2023-2025, in what it says the move is meant to increase the production of meat, milk and eggs.
The move aims to ensure food and nutritional self-sufficiency of the populations and fight against hunger and poverty, states a press note from the meeting chaired by the President, João Lourenço,
The measure will also help increase the income of animal producers and other stakeholders in the value chain of meat production.
Planapecuária is also focused on the increase of the contribution to national cattle production to meet the local consumption, exports and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) needs.
Oil concession for the Cabinda Maritime Zone
At Wednesday's session, the Cabinet analysed the Presidential Legislative Decree that changes the fiscal regime applicable to the oil concession of the Cabinda Maritime Zone.
National Plan for the Development of Fisheries
Also in the economic field, the session gave green light to the Presidential Order that creates the Multi-sector Commission for Supervision of the National Plan for the Development of Fisheries.
The Commission is coordinated by the minister of State for Economic Coordination and features the ministers of Agriculture and Forestry, Territorial Administration, Industry and Commerce, Energy and Water, Education, as well as Public Works.
The Ministries of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Environment, and Transport are also part of the Commission.
Proposed NGO Law
Also analysed on Thursday, the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) proposal goes to the National Assembly for approval.
