Fourth dose of Covid-19 vaccine starts

 Talatona – Angola’s Ministry of Health (MINSA) began administering the fourth dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in the country Monday, involving 11,800 technicians and volunteers.


The current dose is part of the package for the second phase of the integrated vaccination campaign against Polio, measles, rubella and the administration of vitamin A, in children under five years old, launched in Luanda, in a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Health, Silvia Lutucuta.

The vaccination activity, which takes place in the provinces of Luanda, Huambo, Malanje, Huíla, Lundas Norte and Sul, Moxico, Cuando Cubango, Cunene and Namibe, is scheduled to end on December 3, 2022.

The campaign will involve 1,540 teams, with 35 supervisors 35 national, 117 provincial and 308 municipal and support from close to 48 technicians from United Nations organisations and partner institutions.

The country has about 18.9 million inhabitants eligible for vaccination, that is, aged 12 years or older.
