The European Union has reportedly admitted Ukraine into its folks according to a tweet on the official page of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“In a conversation, I thanked @AndrzejDuda for his personal leadership in granting Ukraine membership of the #EU,” the tweet read
“The concrete daily assistance of Poland to our country is also invaluable. The relationship is a common history and, I am sure, a common European future,” Zelensky’s tweet concluded.
Poland’s president, Andrzej Duda, yesterday called for Ukraine to be given an accelerated path to joining the European Union. His remarks followed an appeal by his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, for Ukraine’s potential membership of the bloc to now be “decided once and for all”.
“Poland supports an express path for Ukraine’s membership of the EU,” tweeted Duda yesterday afternoon. “Candidate status should be granted immediately and accession negotiations initiated at once after that. Ukraine should also have access to EU funds for reconstruction.”
