Sérgio Miguel wins Luanda City Chess Open

 


Luanda - FIDE Master Sérgio Miguel won Thursday the chess competition "Luanda City Open" with 7,5 points after defeating Edivaldo Gama, National Specialist , in the ninth and last day of the event held at Paz Flor Cultural Center.

The International Master David Silva was runner ups with 7 pts after overcoming Master Candidate José Cambando seventh place with six points.

With the participation of 54 athletes in both male and female, the competition allusive to the 446 years of the city of Luanda was played in nine rounds (Swiss system), one round.

Fairly balanced there was only a two point difference between first and tenth place.

Classification of the first ten competitors

3° Lutuima Amaro -7

4° Márcio Filipe - 6,5

5° MF Domingos Júnior - 6,5

6° Edivaldo Gama - 6

7° José Cambando - 6

8° MF Luzia Pires - 6

9th MI Esperança Caxita - 5,5

10th MI Erikson Soares - 5,5
