COVID-19: ANGOLA REPORTS 116 NEW INFECTIONS, 28 RECOVERIES



Luanda - The health authorities announced Wednesday the registration of 116 new cases, 5 deaths and the recovery of 48 patients.

According to the secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, amongst the new infections, 46 reside in Luanda, 18 in Lunda Note, 15 in Huambo, 12 in Cunene, 6 in Moxico, 6 in Huila, 5 in Malanje, 4 in Cabinda, 3 in Lunda Sul and 1 in Benguela.

With ages ranging from 4 months to 77 year old, the list included 67 men and 49 women.

The deaths were registered in Luanda, with 2, Namibe with 1, Uíge with 1 and Huíla with 1, respectively.

Of those recovered, 17 reside in Luanda, 9 in Huila, 1 in Namibe and 1 in Cunene.

According to the data, 185 people are in institutional quarantine and 1,990 contacts are under epidemiological surveillance.

In the period in question, 2,957 samples were processed.

Angola has 39,491 positive cases, 925 deaths, 34,047 recoveries and 4,519 active cases. Of those active, 11 are critical 21 severe, 38 moderate, 17 mild and 4,832 asymptomatic.
