COVID-19: ANGOLA RECORDS 439 RECOVERIES, 212 NEW CASES

 According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who was speaking at the usual Covid-19 update session in the country, of those recovered, 282 are from Luanda, 120 from Cuanza Sul (cases detected at the National Petroleum Institute), 27 from Cunene, five from Benguela and the same number from Lunda Sul, aged between one and 63.

As for the new positive cases, he pointed out that they involve citizens whose ages range from five months to 83 years, 147 male and 65 female.

According to him, 168 cases were diagnosed in Luanda province, 23 in the Cuando Cubango, nine in Namibe, six in Moxico, four in Cabinda, one in Benguela and equal number in Malanje.

In relation to the death, Franco Mufinda said that it was an Angolan male citizen, 31 years old and resident in Cabinda.

Angola has 14,134 positive cases, 333 deaths, 7062 recovered and 6,739 active people.

From the active cases, seven are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, 11 severe, 189 moderate, 237 with mild symptoms and 6,295 asymptomatic.

The health authorities have followed up 444 patients admitted to the country's treatment centres.
