Covid-19: Angola reports 220 new infections, six recoveries

  Angolan health authorities announced Tuesday the reporting of 220 new cases, three deaths and six recovered.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who was updating on the pandemic, 156 were registered in Luanda, 21 in Cabinda, 23 in Huíla, nine in Benguela, four in Kwanza Norte, the same number in Malanje, two in Namibe and one in Uíge.

Franco Mufinda said that from this number 143 are male and 77 female, whose ages ranged from five months to 85 years.

The deaths, according to Mr. Mufinda, involve three patients (two male and one female) aged seven, 53 and 56, two of whom live in Luanda and one in Benguela.

Of the six recovered, he said, five are from Luanda and one from Benguela, aged between one and 51 years.

Angola has 8,049 positive cases, with 251 deaths, 3,037 recovered and 4,761 active cases.

Of the active people, nine are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, 19 severe, 112 moderate, 443 with mild symptoms and 4,168 asymptomatic.
