Covid-19: Angola reports 51 new infections, 23 recoveries

  At least fifty one new infections, two deaths and 23 patients recovered is the national epidemiological balance of the last 24 hours presented Monday by the health authorities.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who was updating on the pandemic, the cases were two from Zaire, one from Kwanza Norte, one from Cabinda and 47 registered in Luanda.

Among the new patients, whose ages range from 22 to 82, 31 are male and 20 female.

Regarding the two deaths, Mufinda noted that these were two Angolans aged 52 and 73, respectively.

Regarding the 23 patients recovered, he said that they were residents of Luanda province.

The health authorities are following up 431 patients in treatment centres.

Angola has 3,339 positive cases, 136 deaths, 1,324 recovered and 1,979 active people.

Of the active cases, one critical with invasive mechanical ventilation, 16 2 serious, 44 moderate, 62 mild and 1,856 asymptomatic.
