The Angolan government keeps jobs in Media Nova group

Attn. The following companies were created with public money, as they did not return the stolen money on time, the government has now the right to receive these companies and the workers should sigh with relief because they are now depending on the government.

Luanda - Angolan government has pledged to maintain jobs in some media outlets of Media Nova Group - O País, Rádio Mais and TV Zimbo - whose management has been taken over by the State.

The pledge came from the incumbent minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Media, Manuel Homem.

Manuel Home promised to maintain the editorial line of these companies, despite the new context.

Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with the Media Nova Group board, the minister ruled out any interference in the editorial line.

According to him, the State intends to maintain the plurality and diversity of information in the country.

Manuel Homem said that the conditions have been created for the normality of the group's companies to remain, having announced the intention of selling them to the private sector, via public tender.

The State took over the management of TV Zimbo, Rádio Mais and the newspaper O País, as part of the process to recover assets created with public funds, under Government's strategy to fight corruption, according to a note from the Attorney General's Office (PGR).
