Covid-19 updates: Angola records eight new coronavirus cases

 Angola reports eight new infections of covid-19, of which five were imported and three were  locally transmitted.

    Angola registers 8 more cases, 5 imported and 3 local transmission.The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, reported that in the last 24 hours, there were 8 more positive cases, 5 imported and 3 from local transmission. 

    According to the governor, who spoke at the usual press conference to update data on covid - 19 in the country, it is about 6 male and 2 female individuals, aged between 22 and 42 years. The imported cases, 4 are from Russia, 1 from Lebanon. The cases of local transmission are from the Hoji Ya Henda sanitary fence. 

    Franco Mufinda reported that the country also recorded the recovery of 19 people, “the largest number ever” " he said. A 92-year-old from the Multiperfil sanitary fence, in whom covid-19 was detected, passed away this morning, according to the ruler, not because of covid-19, but due to a stroke. 
    Thus, the epidemiological picture of covid - 19 in the country adds up to 138(+8) confirmed positive cases, being 71 (+8) active, 61 recovered (+19) and 6 deaths (+1). The number of cases of local transmission is 75 (+3) and the imported ones are 63 (+5) cases.  

    From the laboratory, have been collected so far, 14,464 samples, of which 138 positive, 14,145 negative and 186 are in processing. In institutional quarantines there are 549 people, 288 people were discharged, suspicious cases investigated are 459 and direct or occasional contacts under surveillance are 1,199.

Africa today overcame the barrier of six thousand killed by covid-19, recording 6,040, more 284 than on Friday, and counts more than 225 thousand infections, according to official data released by the African Union. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the African Union (Africa CDC), the number of infected has increased from 216,446 to 225,105, that is, 8,659 more sick people. 

    Globally, the new coronavirus has already infected more than 7.6 million people and killed at least 426,029 people worldwide, according to the balance sheet made by the agency France Presse, based on official sources. 

    According to data compiled by AFP up to 11: 00 am today, there have been at least 426,029 deaths in 7,663,680 cases of infection in 196 countries and territories since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, of which at least 3,441,600 are now considered cured.
