A well coordinated Jihadist attack on a Malian military camp in the border town of Mondoro has resulted in 27 dead, 33 injured, and several soldiers missing.
The attack, which occurred at dawn on Friday the 4th of March, was reportedly launched using two armored vehicles by the Jihadists.
In addition to the carnage, the terrorists were said to have made off with several ammunition belonging to the military. They also sabotaged communication installations in the locality before disappearing into the wild.
The Malian transitional government has declared three days of national mourning during which all flags will be flown at half mast.
Mali is not only in transition with its government but is also in somewhat of a transition period as the new Goita administration appears set to sever relations with its former colonial master.
Mali has accused France of being in cahoots with the same Jihadists that if is pretending to help Mali to fight off. This suspicion has led to a closer alliance with Russia with the recent purchase of four fighter helicopters from the warring east European country.
