12 citizens arrested over violence incitement against State

Cacuaco – At least 12 Angolan citizens have been arrested by the National Police (PN) and the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in Luanda, accused of incitement to violence, rebellion and insult against the Angolan State, its symbols and organs.

Several denunciations and complaints from the population about the dissemination of videos, audios and texts through several digital platforms, with contents punishable by law, contributed to the arrest of the alleged criminals.

Speaking to the press, the chief superintendent of the SIC, Manuel Halaiwa, said that a set of operational actions were developed that allowed the identification of the individuals, underlining that the detainees acted singlehandedly and also in groups, with the purpose of disseminating insecurity, panic and hatred amongst the population.

Among the accused, the Police chief highlighted the arrest of the 30-year old digital influencer, Ana da Silva Miguel "Neth Nayara", who incited her private security guard to shoot an AKM-type firearm for no apparent reason.

According to the Police spokesman, two individuals who were trying to leave the country for Spain, with a fake travel visa, were also arrested by the criminal at Luanda  International Airport.

The police chief added that a 30-year-old Vietnamese citizen was also arrested accused of trafficking ivory and rhino horn, while he intended to leave Angola for Dubai.

The Vietnamese citizen was carrying 26 kilograms of ivory worked into bracelets, necklaces, beads, as well as elephant tails, the police chief explained.

The perpetrators have already been presented to the Public Ministry for criminal accountability.
