Global African Family Meeting. Don't miss out!

Global African Family Meeting

ABOUT THE GAFAM WEBINAR

To develop Africa, it has become increasingly clear that no single nation can go it alone. Our economies are relatively too small not only to compete with other economies, but to sustain the inevitable flood of migrants from neighboring countries should any one economy succeeds in rising up well above its peers. We simply have to develop together.

Further, in addition to the 1.3 billion inhabitants on the continent, there are 210 million people of African descent living in the Diaspora who are increasingly paying close attention to what is transpiring on the continent for the first time. The resources they have at their disposal would be invaluable to the continent, which mean we would be foolish to alienate them.

The first ever Global African Family Meeting (GAFAM) seeks to join in several other efforts that look to mobilize ourselves for that singular purpose of building Africa into the force that she was destined to be. Just as in any family, the teacher may live somewhere different from the lawyer, or the doctor and other family members, every once in a while they come together to rekindle the love, discover what each other is doing, see where collaborations can be engaged in, and maintain that family bond. That is what the GAFAM seeks to accomplish.

We have confirmed speakers from all walks of life from 30 nations, where black people can be traced for centuries, who will speak about their respective countries. That powerful diversity will be heralded by the incredibly authentic pan-African personalities in the names of Her Excellency Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao, former African Union Ambassador to the United States, and Samia Nkrumah, the only daughter of the father of pan-Africanism dr. Kwame Nkrumah of blessed memory.

The Theme of the webinar is “four uncommon, yet important facts about your country in four minutes.” That segment alone can take two hours even if we are successful in managing the time efficiently. Then with brief welcome remarks by the CEO of DNT, remarks by our two guest speakers, and an estimated 20-minute Q&A/Interactive session, the entire webinar should take no more than three hours to complete.

After the webinar, DNT will sustain the engagement with all participants, including immediate opportunity for feedback, and look to attract more countries into the fold.

For Africans to do business amongst ourselves, it would take not only the products and services that we produce ourselves and use, but it would take first a concerted effort at getting to know ourselves well, then engaging in very serious mindset education leading to true love for ourselves. This is the main vision of the GAFAM.
