Corona Voice Angola. The tok show with Sofonie Dala. Don't miss it! Day 6

Our Covid-19 show is ongoing in Angola. Day 6

Youth have been hit hard by school closures and the closing down of entry-level jobs in the labour market as well as internships and apprenticeships. As the pandemic is causing massive damage to the informal economy, the situation for young and women workers in this vulnerable sector is even more worrisome.

Our today's guest is Catia, she will share with us her experiences during the pandemic.

Hello, I'm Catia!

The coronavirus pandemic affected me in several ways: as a student I was unable to go to school for a long time, I missed many school subjects and I was unable to learn anything new. Now that classes have reopened, I can again learn new lessons, see my colleagues and gain new knowledge.

Has the school instructed you to follow the preventive measures against the coronavirus?

Yes. Always wash our hands with water and soap, always use facial masks and alcohol gel, we must always prevent ourselves and avoid crowding.

And how is the movement at school? Have all the students who studied with you before returned to school?

Yes, they came back, but we were divided weekly, 15 students go one week and another 15 go in another week.

How has the coronavirus affected your social life?

Well, covid-19 has negatively affected my family in several ways: they are no longer able to work normally, and other family members have been fired from their jobs to avoid agglomeration in the workplace.

This is the first and the only Coronavirus show in Angola where the most ordinary citizens show their brilliant talents.

The heroes of the program are the most ordinary citizens - they share with the audience their songs, poems and real stories of how the Coronavirus pandemic affected their lives.
